IJ challenges him to a soccer battle, but not only is Mutekigahara good at rough plays but also fine plays. A local tips them off that the boy who bought the hat likes to go fishing, so they search near a wharf and find Mutekigahara. He recruits the others to help find him because he's curious about Mutekigahara and why a player as skilled as him isn't on Inazuma Japan. While at the supermarket, Hiura notices they're selling the blue cap that Mutekigahara wore and thinks he might be close by. He tells Inamori, Hiura, and Goujin that he's ordering them to go shopping with Fubuki and Kazemaru for things. In the middle of training, Coach comes in and doesn't really remark on the training that's going on there. Ichihoshi's motive is simply to wear them out in "this meaningless training," but Inakuni is grateful to him because they're getting tougher against physical blows. Ichihoshi says he knows a place in the camp where they can train for that, and takes the Inakuni group to a training facility where they're hit with flying tires. The video shows very big players who use physical strength. Ichihoshi goes to the Inakuni group, saying that he got video on Australia's team while he was abroad and he's going around showing it to the entire team in order to prep them. Ichihoshi thinks he'll have to watch Fudou in the future. Fudou sees Ichihoshi do this and thinks that Ichihoshi might be trying to get the two strikers to take each other out so Ichihoshi can grab their place Fudou decides not to do anything about it for now because he thinks the team could use a little shaking up, but he makes it known to Ichihoshi that he's not fooled by his "good boy" appearance. Ichihoshi tries to urge Hiroto into fighting with Haizaki, but Hiroto just shrugs it off saying that he always gets pissed at Haizaki but it doesn't bother him. Haizaki is irritated at his own lack of progress and takes it out on Hiroto. Coach tells Ichihoshi that he's in standing for their next match and looks forward to seeing his plays. Kidou recruits Nishikage to watch Ichihoshi at all times (so Kidou probably suspects that he may not last very long on the team). Ichihoshi passes it off as an accident that doesn't involve him, which Endou believes, but this incident makes Kidou highly aware of Ichihoshi now and Ichihoshi decides that Kidou will have to be taken out before Endou. Just when Kidou is thinking that maybe he's overthinking his suspicions of Ichihoshi, he sees Ichihoshi try to slice Endou. When Kidou leaves the room though, coach says that there's a reason that Ichihoshi absolutely must be in Inazuma Japan. Kidou asks for information on Ichihoshi but coach refuses, saying it's a violation of privacy. Kidou informs Coach that he thinks there's something more going on the tournament due to what happened to Gouenji and Korea's captain, but coach says it's a regular tournament and he isn't hiding anything from them. Their next opponent is Australia but because coach doesn't have video on them, they decide to do their own training. Gouenji's injury isn't serious but it won't heal before the end of the Asia prelims.
